BW Offshore has a fleet of core FPSO’s, and has executed 40 FPSO and FSO projects. We have an extensive track record of project execution and operations, as well as a robust balance sheet and strong financial capabilities.
BW Offshore is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange under the ticker code BWO. Our main offices are in Oslo and Singapore.
BW Group owns 50% of the shares in the company.
Delivering the Future
BW Opal sets sail
On 28 May 2025, BW Offshore marked a major milestone as BW Opal – a newbuilt, turret-moored FPSO under construction since 2023 – departed Seatrium’s Tuas Boulevard Yard in Singapore. Fully commissioned and ready for deployment, the vessel is now en route to the Barossa gas field, 300 kilometres offshore Darwin, Australia.
With an impressive hull length of 358 metres, a width of 64 metres, 230 MW of installed power, and gas processing capacity of 800 MMSCFD, BW Opal stands among the world’s largest gas FPSOs. Its scale and capabilities reflect years of advanced engineering, global collaboration, and a shared commitment to safe and efficient operations.
Upon arrival, BW Opal will begin hook-up and offshore commissioning, paving the way for first gas in Q3 2025.

We apply four decades of experience in the energy sector, and together with extensive innovation and financing capabilities, develop floating energy solutions and offshore renewable power production at industrial scale.
Global commitments to reducing the carbon intensity of energy systems continue to gain momentum, and BW Offshore is well placed to play our part in evolving energy markets.
For us, getting ready for the future includes combining existing FPSO and floating wind capabilities to develop and deploy clean offshore energy production and develop new adjacent business areas. These may include low-carbon FPSOs powered by floating wind or floating gas-to-power plants.
BW Offshore is developing several renewable and low carbon energy solutions that fit well with our existing business of operating FPSOs, and where we believe we can leverage existing capabilities within our organisation – wind power to platform, carbon capture and storage and ammonia production, to name a few.
